Project: Northern & LOROL

Value: £4bn+ | Year: 2015

Role: We supported Arriva on their Northern Rail (£4bn) and London Overground (£2bn) bids.

Highlight: Wining both bids, we provided specialist support for the Performance Plan, Marketing Plan and the Fairs, Ticketing and Revenue Protection Plan for Northern, while co-authoring the high-scoring Operating Staff plan for LOROL.

Project: Wales & Boarders

Value: £4bn+ | Year: 2018

Role: Provided editorial and bid writing strategy for Arriva’s Wales & Cross-Borders bid.

Highlight: This was the first rail franchise to be procured via a competitive dialogue process and the first to integrate the provision of new rail infrastructure alongside rail operations. We focused on quick infrastructure and service wins, revenue growth, rolling stock, and organisational and sustainability plans.

Role: We provided wide-ranging strategic, editorial and bid production support for Camelot’s National Lottery re-bid, the largest public procurement contract in UK history.

Highlight: A three-year project with hundreds of stakeholders, we delivered the highest-scoring proposal.

Project: Shanghai Expo 2010

Value: $300k | Year: 2010

Role: Our very first project as a company, HhM wrote, researched and edited a 180-page book on the history of the World’s Fair – A Vision of Mankind – distributed by DHL at the Shanghai 2010 Expo.

Highlight: The book was remarkably translated into Chinese overnight and had an initial print run of over 1m copies.

Project: Greater Anglia Franchise

Role: We provided editorial support bid support for First Group’s Greater Anglia bid.

Highlight: Working within the commercial team, we wrote the high-scoring fares, revenue management, as-is, passenger charter and community rail partnership sections of the bid from scratch, and edited the marketing plan.

Project: Genomics Medicine Centre

Role: We wrote the successful Genomics Medicine Centre bid for Guy’s, who led a consortium of four NHS Trusts, as part of the ground-breaking 100,000 Genomes Project.

Highlight: We compiled responses for an entirely original one-hundred-page ITT in three and a half weeks. We submitted one of the highest-scoring bids.

Project: PR and comms

Value: £2m | Year: 2008-14

Role: For six years, we provided PR and comms advice for Volkswagen, producing the English language version of Volkswagen’s ViaVision newsletter.

Highlight: We also authored a 200-page VW guidebook to London and the Olympics in 2012 - a wry, witty look at the city’s literary and media underbelly distributed to 30,000 journalists attending the 2012 Games.
