Role: We helped Aecon with bid writing and editorial support for the Ontario Line RSSOM contract.

Highlight: Having provided services to JV partner Keolis, Aecon, impressed with our work, asked us to help them too. The bid was the highest-ranked technical submission.

Project: HS2 HV Power

Value: £500m+ | Year: 2022

Role: We helped Amey coordinate the writing, bid strategy and review process for Amey’s pending HS2 High Voltage Power contract.

Highlight: We worked across two organisations to deliver this complex bid within a tight page count - outcome pending.

Project: Northern & LOROL

Value: £4bn+ | Year: 2015

Role: We supported Arriva with bid writing services for the winning Northern Rail (£4bn) and London Overground (£2bn).

Highlight: We worked back to back on these two successful bids for Arriva - delivering support on the Performance Plan, Marketing Plan and the Fairs, Ticketing and Revenue Protection Plan for Northern and co-authoring the Operating Staff plan for LOROL (which scored the second-highest in the competition 70+)

Project: Wales & Boarders

Value: £4bn+ | Year: 2018

Role: Provided editorial and bid writing strategy for Arriva’s Wales & Cross-Borders bid.

Highlight: This was the first rail franchise to be procured via a competitive dialogue process and the first to integrate the provision of new rail infrastructure alongside rail operations. We focused on quick infrastructure and service wins, revenue growth, rolling stock, and organisational and sustainability plans.

Project: Nantes Tram-Train

Value: €250m | Year: 2022

Role: We provided editorial support for the Northern Rail Direct Award and the Nantes Tram-Train bid.

Project: BBC

Value: £100k | Year: 2015

Role: We scripted a series of innovative stories about explorers for children's broadcast on BBC Bitesize.

Highlight: Our storytelling skills were put to the ultimate test as we faced one of the toughest audiences to captivate. The results speak for themselves - within just one month, our show garnered an incredible 100,000 views.

Project: A303/A358

Value: £500m+ | Year: 2019

Role: We provided editorial support for Bouygues’ A303/A358 corridor improvements bid and Snowdonia tunnelling project.

Highlight: As well as overall editing and proofing duties, we built a suite of bespoke case studies on Bouygues’ global tunnelling expertise through interview and transcreation.

Project: UK National Lottery

Value: £100bn | Year: 2019-23

Role: We provided wide-ranging strategic, editorial and bid production support for Camelot’s National Lottery re-bid, the largest public procurement contract in UK history.

Highlight: A three-year project with hundreds of stakeholders, we delivered the highest-scoring proposal.

Project: Illinois State Lottery

Value: $20bn | Year: 20XX

Role: We provided bid management as well as editorial and bid support for Camelot's winning bid to operate the Illinois State Lottery.

Highlight: Operating out of offices in five timezones, we delivered the project in a tight six-week turnaround.

Project: Shanghai Expo 2010

Value: $300k | Year: 2010

Role: Our very first project as a company, HhM wrote, researched and edited a 180-page book on the history of the World’s Fair – A Vision of Mankind – distributed by DHL at the Shanghai 2010 Expo.

Highlight: The book was remarkably translated into Chinese overnight and had an initial print run of over 1m copies.

Project: Greater Anglia Franchise

Value: $2bn+ | Year: 2016

Role: We provided editorial support bid support for First Group’s Greater Anglia bid.

Highlight: Working within the commercial team, we wrote the high-scoring fares, revenue management, as-is, passenger charter and community rail partnership sections of the bid from scratch, and edited the marketing plan.

Project: Johnson & Johnson

Value: $8bn | Year: 2020 - 2021

Role: Supported J&J Managed Services team’s winning bid to provide managed elective Orthopaedic Services to Guy’s and St Thomas’s NHS Foundation Trust.

Highlight: Develop a pioneering product and pitch for a new kind of service successfully.

Project: Ontario Line

Value: CAD$6bn | Year: 2022

Role: We provided Keolis with strategy, writing, and editorial support for the Ontario Line rolling stock, systems, operations and maintenance (ROSSOM) contract.

Highlight: Having provided services to Keolis, their JV partner Aecon, impressed with our work, asked us to help them too. The bid was the highest-ranked technical submission.

Role: We provided strategy and bid writing support for the new Manchester Bus Franchise opportunity.

Project: ScotRail

Role: Provided bid direction and production services for MTR’s ScotRail bid (the highest-ranked technical submission).

Project: Essex Thameside TSGN Crossrai

Role: Provided bid production writing for MTR bids, including a bespoke customer report for the winning Crossrail bid (Elizabeth Line)

Project: Genomics Medicine Centre

Value: £20m | Year: 2014

Role: We wrote the successful Genomics Medicine Centre bid for Guy’s, who led a consortium of four NHS Trusts, as part of the ground-breaking 100,000 Genomes Project.

Highlight: We compiled responses for an entirely original one-hundred-page ITT in three and a half weeks. We submitted one of the highest-scoring bids.

Role: We provided bid consultancy for this NHS teaching Trust.

Highlight: We delivered winning a PQQ and ITT for diabetic retinopathy, mortuary, and radiotherapy services.

Project: Health Innovation Network

Role: We provided bid consultancy services for the Health Innovation Network Academic Health Science Network (ASHN).

Highlight: We successfully bid for EU development funds to establish a digital health accelerator.

Project: East London NHS Foundation Trust

Role: We provided bid writing, editing and proofing for this complex NHS Foundation Trust Bid.

Highlight: We delivered two winning bids, managing workstream leaders and editing responses.

Project: Infrastructure projects

Value: £500m+ | Year: 2015-19

Role: We worked with Osborne providing bid production services for their transport infrastructure business.

Highlight: In addition to a number of successful highway maintenance contracts, we worked on a series of station regeneration programmes at Berkhamsted, Chippenham and Gloucester involving complex civils, M&E, and structural building works in a live railway/congested urban environment.

Project: Qatar Foundation

Value: $2bn | Year: 2019

Role: Qatar Foundation turned to us for our expertise and guidance in developing a comprehensive Safety Management System and suite of company policies and procedures.

Highlight: We worked hand-in-hand with the Qatar Foundation team to create a robust and effective system that would not only meet, but exceed the requirements of the MOTC safety certification (which we achieved certification with flying colors).

Project: Doha Metro and Lusail Trams

Value: $5bn | Year: 2016

Role: We supported the winning Doha Metro and Lusail Trams bid (a JV with Keolis).

Highlight: We provided strategic advice, ensuring compliance with RADAR/EfQM as well as leading editorial across the bid (including writing two plans from scratch).

Value: $1bn | Year: 2020

Role: We provided writing support for Serco’s Dubai Metro bid.

Highlight: We authored the Asset Management and Maintenance Plan from scratch.

Project: DLR

Value: £500m+ | Year: 2013

Role: We supported the Docklands Light Railway re-bid for Serco.

Highlight: Our first bid and inauguration into the world of public procurement. A baptism of fire to say the least!

Project: Franchise bids

Role: Supported the South Eastern, East Midland (drafted high-scoring performance plan) and West Coast Partnership UK rail franchise bids.

Highlight: We wrote the highest scoring plans (Performance) for bot South Eastern and West Coast Partnership.

Project: Tata Consultancy Services

Role: We supported TATA in their National Employment Savings Trust pension scheme bid.

Value: €500m+ | Year: 2018-19

Role: We led the end-to-end bidding process for Luas tram from PPQ to the final winning submission. From bid director and subject matter expert support, to bid writing and production.

Role: We also supported Transdev’s bid for the Waterford bus and Dublin commuter bus delivering the highest-scoring technical solutions.

Project: UnitedHealth

Role: A year-long project helping Optum (a subsidiary of UnitedHealth Group) enter the UK healthcare market.

Highlight: We helped lead significant transformational change in Optum’s bidding operations across healthcare bids in areas such as Cancer Care, Improving Lives and End of Life.

Project: Public relations

Value: £200k | Year: 2012

Role: HhM were brought in to help shape public perception of Vodafone as a leader in technology innovation, editing a dynamic weekly newsletter on the lastest breakthroughs in the telecommunications industry.

Highlight: We negotiated circulation deals with all major broadsheets, ensuring that our newsletter reached an estimated 400,000 homes each week.

Project: PR and comms

Value: £2m | Year: 2008-14

Role: For six years, we provided PR and comms advice for Volkswagen, producing the English language version of Volkswagen’s ViaVision newsletter.

Highlight: We also authored a 200-page VW guidebook to London and the Olympics in 2012 - a wry, witty look at the city’s literary and media underbelly distributed to 30,000 journalists attending the 2012 Games.

Project: Network Rail’s Design Services Framework

Role: We helped WSP secure their place on Network Rail’s Design Services Framework for multi-disciplinary contracts on a national basis, as well as single discipline contracts for Electrification & Plant (North West & Scotland and South East) and Civils & Structural (South West). We scored 100% in all areas.
